6th grade students in Mrs McGee’s World History class invited Superintendent George Kennedy, Officer Chuck Fears, and Adam Rigney on Friday and Honorable Circuit Judge Douglas Brimhall on Wednesday to help them prepare court cases and work together as plaintiffs, defendants, and witnesses. They learned about the first set of written laws and were able to learn how some are similar to the laws of today. Judge Brimhall taught them how court proceedings are handled and he even brought his wonderful court reporter, Kimberly Payne. She showed them the job of a court reporter and how important it is. Officer Fears was our bailiff. I think he even enjoyed taking the guilty into custody. We had several cases tried and judgments passed down. Overall, it was an exceptional learning experience for students. We appreciate the time everyone took out of their busy day. Thank you, Judge Douglas Brimhall, for coming to our classroom and making this an unforgettable experience.

Get yourself a Pink Out Shirt!

4th grade students created a new animal with adaptations to help it survive. Their new animal was presented in a pamphlet with information and pictures describing the new discovery. They then were able to read and learn about their classmates’ animals. They had a blast!!
