Brookland Junior High is proud to announce its selection as a Model School at the prestigious 2025 Model Schools Conference taking place in Washington, D.C. June 22-25. Hosted by the Center for Model Schools, this highly anticipated event honors forward-thinking schools that drive transformation, inspire change, and implement groundbreaking strategies to improve student outcomes.
Chosen from a competitive group of schools nationwide, Brookland Junior High has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to student success and innovation. By fostering a culture of collaboration, ambitious instruction, and continuous improvement, the school exemplifies excellence in education.
As part of this distinguished recognition, Brookland Junior High will present two sessions at MSC 2025, engaging with over 5,000 educators to share insights on Building Relationships, Enhancing Learning, and Increasing Literacy Through Digital Portfolios.
Please be advised, Brookland Public Schools will be in session Friday, April 18th, Tuesday, May 27th, and Wednesday, May 28th to make up for missed days due to snow.

Nine Brookland Junior High School students participated in Arkansas State University's Communication Day: Cooper Adair, Maddox Adams, Arron Dover, Ronald Gonzalez, Mollie Hampton, Katelyn Reed, Lauren Sanders, Amelia Williams, and Cashtan Wilson.
“The main purpose of Communication Day is to expose prospective students to the highly versatile field of communication, including the various majors, careers and employable skills such as one-on-one and group interactions, persuasive argument, debate, social media content management, and digital marketing,” said Dr. Jill Simons, associate dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Communication.
For the second year in a row, Brookland won the Argumentative Essay Competition. This year's writer was Amelia Williams.
Amelia Williams, Cashtan Wilson, Mollie Hampton, and Lauren Sanders also won awards for social media content management and digital marketing.
JR. HIGH CHEER TRYOUTS FOR 2025/2026 WILL BE MARCH 10 - 13.

Arkansas Junior Thespian Thespys:
Caraline Cochran was selected to Showcase at Festival on the 15th. This means that she will be performing for everyone during Closing Ceremonies. One selection is made from each category from all the entries received, and Caraline was chosen for Solo Acting (monologues).
Amelia Williams placed 5th in the 500 free style and 8th in the 100 fly at the 4A-1A State Swimming and Diving Championship Meet Saturday in Russellville!

We had ten 8th grade students compete in the first round of the Arkansas Junior Thespys, and ALL of them scored either a Superior or Excellent. Golf Team Information Meeting Announcement - 2025:
Any boy or girl currently in the 8th -11th grade interested in playing on the golf team next season will have a meeting on Tuesday, March 4th during 6th Period in the Cafeteria.

The Brookland School District will be closed tomorrow, Friday, February 21st. Many of our gravel roads are either covered or have areas that are and the morning wind chill is another deciding factor. Be safe and stay warm.
The All-State Band performances for this weekend have been canceled and the District Basketball Tournament games scheduled for tomorrow night have been pushed to Friday night. Thank you all for your understanding and support.

Bowling Overalls have been moved to next Tuesday and Coach H. has canceled the trip to the Indoor Track meet scheduled for Saturday in Fayetteville.
