The Brookland Special Education office will hold a meeting to provide information and answer any questions of parents who live in the Brookland School District, are currently homeschooling, and have a child who has had an IEP in a public school setting. This meeting will be held on April 7th from 3:30-4:30pm at 102 Smith St. Please contact Amy Caines at (870) 336-6556 if have any questions.
Parents and guardians,
Bus routes 79 and 97 have areas that are underwater making it unsafe for the buses to travel through. If this area is still underwater in the morning, a bus will not be able to pick up your children. If you cannot get your child to school safely, please call your child's building, and we will excuse their absence. Your child's safety is of utmost importance to all of us. Be careful!
Brookland School District is requesting proposals for custodial services to begin June 1, 2025. Any service provider interested in submitting a proposal may obtain the requested scope of work by contacting Brett Bunch at 870-932-2080 or by email at bbunch@bpsbearcats.com. Proposals will be accepted until April 31, 2025 at noon. The District reserves the right to reject any or all proposals.
After conversations with local and national weather services concerning the Wednesday April 2nd forecast the Brookland School District will be releasing students and staff at 1:00 pm for tomorrow Wednesday, April 2nd. High winds, heavy rains and flooding are a possibility starting between 2:00 and 3:00. Safety of our students and staff during a weather event such as this is paramount for our district. Thank you for your support and understanding.
Parents and Guardians,
This is a reminder to please wait until 2:40 each afternoon to start lining up on Hickory Street. We understand the amount of traffic, but it is always important that when needed we are able to get emergency vehicles or other traffic through the area during and before that time. Thank you for your help with this. Have a great Spring Break!
The Middle School, Elementary and Primary were temporarily in a soft lock down and have been under no safety issue. They have been released from the soft lock down. Thank for your understanding and patience.
Today's baseball games and soccer matches have been cancelled due to potential weather conditions.
Please be advised, Brookland Public Schools will be in session Friday, April 18th, Tuesday, May 27th, and Wednesday, May 28th to make up for missed days due to snow.

Brookland Schools has a shortage of bus drivers this afternoon and one route will have to be held at the school until a driver can get back to run that second route. The affected route is 99. Parents, you are more than welcome to come and pickup your child otherwise they will be running roughly 45 minutes later than normal home. We apologize greatly for this inconvenience and will do our best to get these students home as quickly but safely as possible.
Due to a bus driver shortage this morning, route 99 will not start until a driver can finish their regular route and get back out to pick up route 99's students. Route 99 will be starting approximately 60 minutes late and bus stops will be running approximately that much behind. We sincerely apologize and will strive to get these students to school as quickly and safely as possible.
