Ahtziry Zuniga is breaking Bearcat history! She is Brookland's very first student to be awarded the Arkansas Seal of Biliteracy. This prestigious award recognizes that she is capable of reading, speaking, writing, and comprehending in two different languages at a proficient or advanced level. Way to go!

With impending severe weather this afternoon, BPS has student safety protocols in place for all campuses. If we are in our tornado safe spots, students will not be allowed to check out or leave the safe spot until the threat has passed.
On Monday, our junior high choir students participated in Choral Performance Assessment at Southside. Their scores are:
7th and 8th Grade TB Choir: II - Excellent
7th Grade Treble Choir: II - Excellent
Troubadours: IIR - Excellent Recommended
8th Grade Treble Choir: I - Superior (all three judges gave them a superior!)
8th Grade Select Treble Ensemble: I - Superior (all three judges gave them a superior!)
EVERY choir scored a SUPERIOR in sight singing! The highest possible score!
As we enter into the spring season and warmer days, please be reminded of our dress code:
Students’ shorts, skirts and dresses must be a dollar bills length from the top of the knee.
Students will not be permitted to wear transparent clothing, mesh shirts, half shirts, muscle shirts, halters, strapless blouses, spaghetti straps, low cut revealing blouses, unbuttoned shirts, unfastened pants, pajama pants, sagging pants, clothing that displays bare midriffs, mini-skirts, spandex shorts, or unbuckled belts.

At around 9:30am, BPS was notified by the Brookland Police Department that they were conducting a search at a residence near the Jr/Sr. High School. For precautionary reasons, the school was placed on temporary lockdown. The lockdown was lifted at 10:00am without any incidents on school campus.
