BROOKLAND MIDDLE SCHOOL
NEW SECURITY MEASURES
Welcome back to a new school year. We are implementing a few changes this year regarding entering the middle school building. Some of you may have noticed the new security system near our front doors. It looks like a typical “Ring” doorbell.
Beginning on September 2nd we will be locking our front doors promptly at 8:00 AM and you will have to ring the bell to get permission to enter the building.
Students who arrive after the 7:55 tardy bell must have a parent/guardian with them to come in and sign them in as tardy. If you need to check your student in/out during the school day, you will have to show ID at the camera and the office will determine if it is necessary for you to enter the building.
If you are bringing items that your student “forgot” at home, please have their name on the item before you ring the bell for entry. Those items include, Chromebooks, Lunch boxes, folders, water bottles and any other items you may think necessary for your students.
If you are coming in to see the nurse, please ring the bell and let the office know. We will buzz you into the main lobby and let the nurse know you are here so that she can come and assist you.
This new system will take some getting used to and we appreciate your patience. We are working hard to try to keep our students and staff as safe as possible.
If you have questions, please feel free to contact the Middle School office at 870-932-2080 Option 3.
We hope everyone has a great school year!
