Eli’s grandparents and their trained therapy dog, Marly, were Mystery Readers in Mrs. Son’s class yesterday. Mrs. Donna read a book about helper dogs and shared another book about Marly’s training, visits, and accomplishments. Then, Marly stole the show by showing the students a few of her favorite tricks such as catching a ball, locating a ball by scent and sound, sitting on command, speaking, and pushing a special button that tells humans her name. She even modeled her favorite Easter outfit for the class. Afterwards, Marly visited with the students and let them pet her. For being such a good girl, the class surprised Marly with a “wag cup” from Sonic. Thank you, Mrs. Donna, for sharing your knowledge about therapy dogs.
