Summer EBT is for school-aged children in households participating in SNAP, TEA, Medicaid Free or Medicaid Reduced, or for children attending a school that offers USDA National School Lunch or School Breakfast Program, and whose household income meets the requirements for free or reduced-price school meals. Families receive $120 per eligible school-aged child for groceries, and the benefit is delivered on a new or existing Summer EBT card. If they received Summer EBT last year, the benefits will be loaded on the same card–so families should make sure they still have their card handy! Most eligible families will be automatically enrolled, but some will need to apply. Families can check here if they need to apply, or if they should receive Summer EBT automatically: ar.gov/SummerEBT TIP: To apply at access.arkansas.gov, families click the “Apply for New Benefits” tab and then log in with an existing Access Arkansas account, or create a new one. If they’re using a printed application, families can email the completed application to SummerEBT@dhs.arkansas.gov or drop it off at their local DHS county office. Paper copies are also available at local DHS county offices. More help If families need extra help with their application, they can call Summer EBT help center Monday-Friday 8a-4:30p, at 1-833-316-2421. For questions about replacing a Summer EBT card, families can call 1-800-997-9999.

These young Rising Bearcats learned the fundamentals of an Attack Stance, loading the basketball, and putting their follow through in the cookie jar. 🏀🍪 They split up into station work and focused on dribbling, passing, footwork, and developmental shooting defensive stances. There were also contests to finish up with Lay ups and Dribble Knockout. 🗑️⛹️‍♀️⛹🏼

Brookland School District is proud to announce the addition of Mr. Chris Moss as Assistant Superintendent. Mr Moss began his career in education with Marion Public Schools and has spent the last 11 years serving the Nettleton School District in a variety of roles, including high school teacher, coach, Dean of Students, and most recently, as Principal of Nettleton Junior High.

He holds a bachelor’s, master’s, and Ed. specialist degree from Arkansas State University and he is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Change Leadership from the University of Central Arkansas.

"I am passionate about student-focused leadership and believe every decision in education should be made through the lens of what is best for kids. I'm excited to join Superintendent Kennedy and the outstanding administrators, faculty, and staff of Brookland. I can't wait to meet the students, families, and community that make up the Bearcat family!"

From Mr Slater, but I wanted to share. We are thankful for their commitment to our student athletes. Tonight marks the culmination of an era for the Slater and Newton families. Shonna Slater played a vital role in the Boosters' inception. While I took jobs with other schools, Brookland has remained a focal point. Throughout her tenure, Shonna has demonstrated remarkable adaptability as a member, officer, and President. Her selfless commitment to enhancing the basketball programs has been inspiring. From the 1st Meet the Bearcats to overseeing numerous fundraisers, designing t-shirts, and mentoring concerned parents (having successfully guided three children through the program), Shonna has embodied the spirit of a Bearcat, frequently going unrecognized. Her tireless efforts warrant substantial recognition. We express sincere gratitude to Mrs. Shonna for her trailblazing leadership, unwavering loyalty, and dignified completion of her role. A rejuvenating vacation is imminent; I hope to take care of that soon.
