The Craighead County Clerk's office has provided the following information about filing to run for the school board.
Packets will be made available for pick up in the County Clerk's office or the Brookland Central Office. Candidates filing by petition may begin collecting signatures on May 9, 2024. The two positions that will be on the November 5, 2024 ballot will be Zone 3, Mr. McGaughey and At-large Mr. Allen.
Per Arkansas Code annotated 6-14-111 (d)-(f); Act 349 of 2021, the petition must contain at least twenty (20) registered voters who are residents of the school district. We recommend obtaining extra qualified signatures to ensure compliance. The petition, political practice pledge and the affidavit of eligibility must be filed with the county clerk's office between noon July 31, 2024 and noon August 7, 2024.
