Mission Statement

We, the Brookland Jr. and Sr. High School Faculty exist to empower students to become productive members of society in an ever changing world.

Congratulations to our Jr. High talent show winners:


3rd Place- Brody Groves singing All Alone $20 prize

2nd Place- Nicholas Lamb playing on keyboard, Clocks - $25 prize

1st Place- Joey Jackson drumming blindfolded- $30 prize.


*HAT DAY! Students may pay $1 on Thursday, Oct 24 to wear a hat. All proceeds will benefit the angel tree project and canned food drive at Brookland. Money will be taken up in 2nd period to avoid conflicts with late arriving seniors and JH athletics.


*LUNCH A - No food allowed in the JH library until October 28 due to students not cleaning up messes.


*Parent/teacher conferences will be Thursday, October 24 from 2:00 - 8:00, No school on Friday, October 25


*During parent/teacher conferences on Oct 24, Mrs. Jessica Horton (Teen Librarian at CCJPL) will be in the cafeteria to make Jonesboro Public Library cards.  All students, parents, faculty, and staff have the opportunity to receive a new or updated library card. This is even available to residents of Greene County!  Once users have an active public library card, they may access eMedia (eBooks, audiobooks, music downloads), homework help, databases, and more.


*Fall sports pictures are Monday, October 21st.


*Any students in grades 7-12 that are interested in being on the Jr and Sr High Chess Competition Teams see Mr. Wyatt.  There will be a $5 member fee. The regional competition at ASU is Saturday, February 15, 2020. For those that qualify, the state competition is April 11, 2020.  We have to send in our membership application by October 31, 2019.


*Students are not allowed to go to the ISS room unless sent by a teacher. 


*The 7th grade baseball tryouts will be held on Friday October 18th from 5:30 -7:00 on the Brookland youth baseball fields adjacent to the High School field. Athletes will need to bring their own helmet, bat, and glove(s). Also catchers will need to bring their gear. 

7th grade coach will be Brian Aston.


*The School Spelling Bee for grades 7-8 will be December 3rd during homeroom.  Students, check your email for the study list of words. *Arkansas Department of Health will be administering flu shots to those students and staff wanting one on October 24th.  Forms for students will be going home this week. Students, please return completed forms to nurse by October 21 if you are wanting a flu shot.


*"The Holiday Channel Christmas Movie Wonderthon" will be presented by the Brookland High School Drama Dept on Saturday, Dec. 7th at 7pm and Sunday, Dec. 8th at 2pm.  

Whether you love Hallmark movies or hate Hallmark movies, you'll enjoy this mashup of six Christmas movies all at once! 


 *Make-up picture day will be Friday, October 18th.


*Miss Bearcat pageant will be January 25, 2020. Forms will go home with students in the next few weeks.


*Student reminder:  CHECK YOUR EMAILS DAILY!!  Announcements, upcoming events, SLT/AMP, etc. are communicated through email.


*Any student 9-12 grades that would like to join Arkansas Young Artists Association please join the AYAA google classroom code x3jh60. The code is hanging outside Mrs. Hatton’s classroom also. Dues are $20 and due by Oct.18 and Art club shirts are $15. Make checks payable to Brookland Schools
